Catherine is a holistic doula, doctor of acupuncture, practitioner of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine and shamanic practitioner. 

Catherine’s journey into medicine work began in 2007 in the Crow’s Nest Mountains, where she had the honour to study the practice of Shamanism with the Kimmapii Community. She then completed the 5 year doctor of TCM program in 2017 at the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrated Health Sciences. These practices deeply inform her perspective of physiology, health, and of course birth.

Her passion has always been in women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, birth, miscarriage support and menopause. Catherine’s personal birth experience fascinated and surprised her with how deep and healing the altered states of consciousness were. She became so intrigued by birth that she completed the Holistic Doula program with Whapio through The Matrona, as well as became a member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association. She understands that birth can be a portal and one of the greatest ceremonies a woman can enter. She is passionate about sharing this perspective with her patients and helping to prepare their bodies, hearts & minds for birth. 

Catherine believes that birth can be an empowering and sacred experience. And while we can never predict the outcome of a birth, we can guide our experience with knowledge and support. She is dedicated to empowering her clients and their partners so that they can make informed decisions and feel supported and witnessed every step of the way. Catherine holds space for her clients so that they can confidently embrace their journey into motherhood and beyond.

Catherine is currently practicing at a lovely clinic in St. Albert called Holistic Fertility Group. Outside of clinic, she spends her time obsessively learning and taking more courses, listening to records while sipping tea with her family and cats, and watching in awe as her little one blossoms into a full human.
